CARE INSTRUCTIONS
READY TO WEAR

Balmain clothes combine impeccable cuts, exceptional fabrics, and meticulous details to give each piece a unique and captivating character,

which is why your Balmain creation must be treated with great care.

Compliance with the recommended care instructions located on the label will ensure the longevity of the garment.

To preserve your piece, we recommend you take to heart the following instructions.

If you need further care advice for your garment, we invite you to consult a luxury goods specialist.

LINEN PIECE

Linen cultivation and the weaving process are environmentally friendly.

This very hardy plant requires limited irrigation, little fertiliser and few pesticides, all the while absorbing CO2 from the air.

Linen is a sustainable, 100% natural fibre that softens with each wash.

If washing instructions are provided on the care label, we recommend turning the piece inside

out and separating it from light colours to avoid any running.

If hand-washing:

Submerge your item in cold water (30°C maximum) and rub gently for a few minutes.

Do not leave your item to soak in the water for too long and avoid wringing the material.

Rinse in clean water then leave your piece to dry on a hanger.

If machine-washing:

• Select a gentle cycle with a cold temperature and lower spin setting (600 RPM maximum).

• Removing your linen item from the washing machine as soon as possible and leaving it to dry outside on a hanger.

• Always cool iron your item on the reverse side.

We recommend ironing your item when it’s still slightly damp to avoid damaging the fibres.

• Store your Balmain item on a hanger away from light.

LEATHER PIECE

Our leather pieces undergo a specific artisanal treatment that gives them unique and exclusive characteristics.

Leather is a natural material that changes over time, creating slight differences

in color and appearance that render your piece unique. It requires regular care to preserve its beauty and suppleness.

We recommend that you have your piece cleaned by a leather specialist to avoid contact with textiles and materials that can color bleed.

Avoid wearing lightly colored clothes with a dark leather jacket and vice versa.

Protecting your garment:

• Limit prolonged exposure to the sun to prevent drying out and discoloration of the leather.

• Following exposure to water, dry your piece with a dry, non-abrasive cloth.

• Avoid placing your item near a heat source (i.e., hairdryer, radiator, etc.)

Caring for your garment in shearling:

• This type of leather can lose its hair with use if it is too often subjected to friction.

It can only be cleaned with a dry cloth, rubbing lightly in the direction of the hair.

• If your piece is stained, we recommend you contact a leather specialist.

DENIM PIECE

Your denim item has undergone one or more washes or a specific artisanal treatment that can give

it a particular and unique look which will change over time.

The slight imperfections and prematurely aged appearance of the hardware are intentional

and not seen as defects as they are an integral part of the style of this model.

If washing is recommended on the care label, we advise you to inside out the piece before

putting it in the machine to avoid white marks during the spin cycle.

Between two washes, hang your garment on a hanger to allow the fibers to stretch.

WOOL / CASHMERE PIECE

If washing is recommended on the care label, we advise you to inside out the piece then

separate the lights to prevent the colors from bleeding.

When handwashing:

• Immerse your garment in cold water (20°C maximum) then gently rub together

without stretching the material for a few minutes.

• To avoid deformation and pelting, it is important to not leave your item soaking for

too long and not twist the material when wringing it out.

• Rinse in clean water then lay flat to dry.

When machine washing:

• Select a special wool program on cold with a short spin cycle.

• Your item should always be ironed inside out at 110°C maximum.

• Your Balmain article should always be put away flat so that it doesn’t lose its original shape.

JACKETS

Our Balmain jackets are made in the purest tradition of French luxury.

To ensure an optimal look, your jacket should be hung on a hanger between each wear.

When it is not being worn, we recommend not exposing the piece to the sun and

storing it in a garment bag to protect it from light and dust.

TWEED PIECE

An iconic fabric with Scottish roots, tweed is woven with different colored filaments to create unique patterns.

Its open structure is sensitive to friction.

avoid snags and pulls when mixing with other garments in your machine.

After washing, pieces made of lightweight lace should be put on a hanger and left to air dry.
